Why convert WebP to JPG
WebP is common on websites because its files are small, but some image editors, office apps and upload forms still only accept JPG or PNG. Converting to JPG makes the image usable almost everywhere.
Transparency and animation
WebP can contain transparency; JPG can't. Transparent areas are filled with white unless you pick another colour.
PixMino works with still images. An animated WebP is converted as a single still frame.
File size after converting
A JPG is often somewhat larger than the WebP it came from at similar quality. If you need to stay under a specific size, add a file size limit and PixMino will find the highest quality that fits.
Supported formats
PixMino opens five formats and saves four. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG or PNG.

Questions
Why won't my WebP image open in some apps?
Older software and some upload forms don't support WebP. Converting it to JPG or PNG solves that.
Will I lose quality converting WebP to JPG?
Both formats are usually lossy, so converting compresses the image again. At the default settings the difference is hard to see; choose Best quality to keep as much detail as possible.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG for photos, where it gives much smaller files. PNG for graphics with sharp edges, or when you need to keep transparency.
